Malan du Toit, seen at Randjesfontein at the weekend on Candice Dawson stables’ lead horse, Sundari.
He was working with one of Dawson’s runners and decided to take a break and sit on this former Kimberley Mile winner who was a very good sand horse and now belongs to Tammy Dawson.
‘He’s a smart horse with a beautiful personality,’ said Malan, who wanted to take on some of the jockeys at Randjes in a 600m gallop, but thankfully decided against it.
He did note, for fans worried about his safety, that he put on a skull cap and body protector before Sundari broke into a gentle canter.
